Terminal terror
Hardware: PC     Visualizza

Titolo originale:Terminal Terror

Year: 1994 Expert Software
Genre: Shooter - FPS
Version: Commercial, DOS

Description:

Terminal Terror is the sequel to Lethal Tender. Once again you step in the
shoes of super spy/army-of-one hero Nick Hunter and this time around your mission
is to take back into custody the international terrorist Bruno Riggs who has
escaped jail thanks to the aid of a new terrorist cell that has some nasty plans
in store for the world.

Gameplay evolves from the straightforward Doom-cloned FPS action of the original
and introduces a lot of innovative features that were surprisingly ahead of it's
day for a FPS, such as branching and optional missions, stealth-oriented sequences
which make use of non-lethal weapons and a stealth meter (named as the "profile")
which allow you to avoid detection based on your current speed, readied weapon,
etc.

Terminal velocity
Hardware: PC     Visualizza

Titolo originale:Terminal Velocity

Year: 1995 U.S. Gold
Genre: Shooter - FPS
Input: key, mouse, joy, pad
Media: 3,5" floppy disk, cdrom, download
Graphics: SuperVGA, VGA
Sound: Gravis Ultrasound, Pro Audio Spectrum, Sound Blaster

Description:

Terminal Velocity is a video game developed by Terminal Reality and published
by 3D Realms on May 1, 1995.
It is an arcade-style combat-dedicated flight action shooter, with
easier game controls and less general realism than general flight
simulators. It is known for its relatively fast, high-energy action
sequences, especially when compared to other more realistic flight simulators
around at the time.

The story is set in the year 2704, when the ASFAR (Alliance of Space-Faring
Alien Races), of which Earth is a member, suddenly turns against Earth and their
fleets ravages the planet, starting a war. The player flies a powerful
starfighter, the TV-202, in a series of missions to defeat the enemy.
In Episode 3, the player learns that a huge supercomputer
known as X.I. (Xenocidic Initiative), located on Proxima Seven, is
responsible for the war. Their final mission is to eliminate it.

Terminal Velocity was co-produced by Tom Hall. The main programmer of the game
was Mark Randel, the former lead programmer of Microsoft Flight Simulator.
At its launch, the game's all-digital soundtrack, frame rates, external
environments, and ability to fly through tunnels and into
underground caverns set it apart from the rest of its genre.

Terminal Velocity was released as both a floppy disk and a CD-ROM version.
The CD-ROM version improved upon the floppy version with 70 MB of extended
pre-rendered 3D cut scenes, higher image resolution (including more detailed
textures) and support for 8-player network multiplay.

Terminator 2
Hardware: AMSTRAD-CPC     Visualizza

Titolo originale:Terminator 2

Year: 1991 Ocean
Genre: Arcade - Misc
Lang: English
Disks: 1
Version: Commercial, key

Description:

A robot, T1000, has been sent back in time to terminate a young boy called John
Connor, but some humans have sent another robot, T101 (that's you) to protect
him. The game has seven levels which rotate around three styles of gameplay -
beat-'em-ups (levels 1, 4 and 7), driving from an overhead view (levels 2 and
6), and puzzles where you must slide tiles to create a picture (levels 3 and 5).
Thankfully the puzzles are only bonus levels, and it isn't necessary to complete
the puzzles in order to go to the next level. It's a big game with marvellous
graphics - check out T1000's face on the fifth level - but the gameplay is
definitely also there.

Titolo originale:Terminator II - Judgment Day

Year: 1991 Ocean
Genre: Arcade - Multigenre
Lang: English
Disks: 2

Description:

The game takes place over different stages that involve fighting,
shooting and motorcycle riding that applies a overhead perspective. The
graphics are big and colourful and animated reasonably well. The static
display screen is well presented with some decent renditions of Arnie
and the T1000. A good SID chip version of the Terminator theme plays at
the intro screen with some effective SFX and jingles throughout the
game.

In all T2 is a decent conversion that remains fairly faithful to the
movie. It was released at a time of renewed optimism for the C64
platform in the face of the Sega/ Nintendo invasion and represented
fairly well of what the trusty Commodore 64 was capable of

Genre: Shooter - Arcade 2D
Input: key, joy
Media: 3,5" Floppy disk
Graphics: EGA, Tandy, VGA
Sound: Adlib, PC Speaker, Roland

Description:

Terminator 2: The Judgement Day is an action classic.
Everybody remembers the plot, the lines, the special effects and almost
everything about this film. It was a huge success worldwide and video
games were just a matter of time. Terminator 2: Judgement Day the game,
was released in 1991 by Ocean.

You play as the good old T-800 cyborg and your mission is to save
John Connor from the new terminator: the deadly T-1000. You go through
different levels fighting, shooting, driving and solving puzzles. The
fighting and shooting levels are repetitive and boring. You face the
T-1000 on some of the movie locations such as the hospital, and you'll
have to defeat him or get him out of the screen in order to pass the
level. Between some levels you'll find a puzzle, where you need to fix
T-800's arm or face with time against you. If you do it well, your
health bar will be restored.

Graphics are nice, and you get to see small cutscenes in between the levels.
As for the music, is nearly nonexistent.

Description:

Terra Cresta is an arcade conversion made by Imagine from the original Nichibutsu
coin-op.

The game was quite popular in the arcades back then and it was ported to many
home computers. The game introduced some original concepts, and it's influence
can clearly be seen here and there in later shoot'em up games. For example
Hybris on the Amiga was inspired by it.

Terra Cresta is part of the Terra series. The predecessor of Terra Cresta was
named Moon Cresta, and it too was converted for the C64. After Terra Cresta the
series continued with Terra Force, but it never saw a C64 conversion.
