Sensible Golf is Sensible Software's homage to the game of golf.
Some 25 golf courses are at your disposal, none of which are based on
real courses, although one of them looks a bit like Basingstoke Pitch
and Putt.
The are no secret moves, hidden levels or power-ups in this game.
Similarly, you cannot 'be' Chun Li.
Playing this game will not make you a better golfer in real life. It
might, however convince you to take up a more stimulating hobby.
As you play Sensible Golf, you will not feel the-urge to say things like
Never before has golf been so accurately simulated'. Those have got to
be the most impressve SVGA graphics I've ever seen. Finally a computer
golf game that takes you beyond the boundaries of your desktop or Golf
action so real that you can almost smell the grass'.
Life's like a box of chocolates - some sod always eats the soft centres
and leaves you the nougat, walnut and praline.

The game featured the same pin-like characters that had previously been used with
great success in Sensible Soccer and Cannon Fodder, although upon release it was
deemed a commercial failure and received lacklustre reviews.
Part of the problem was because it had been designed as an arcade game
rather than a serious golfing simulation, which many critics felt
reduced its overall longevity. Level designs were often purposely
unrealistic, with small areas of fairway submerged in water.

Sensible Soccer is a soccer game, in fact here in England it is what
we call a football game or dare I say a football simulation. The main
part of the game is the football action itself, the rules of which I
shall describe breifly below. Around the football action we have
included a fair variety of different football competitions Cups,
Leagues and Championships, both real and imaginary, with 64 top
European football clubs and all 34 European national teams including
1250 different players. All these features shold add to your enjoyment
of what we consider to be the most realistic and playable football
simulation to date.

This disk from Amiga Power magazine contains playable demo versions of
Flair's Trolls and Psygnosis' Combat Air Patrol, but the item of most interest is
perhaps Sensible Soccer Meets Bulldog Blighty - partly as a demo of the 92-93
edition, and also for something different.
England V Germany is on offer, with 3 modes of play - 1944, 1966 and 1993. The
latter 2 are easy to explain - 1993 is a playable demo to show off the
improvements to the second version, and 1966 involves playing the World
Cup Final teams, in black and white (a hidden option which exists in
the Custom Teams of the full game).
1944, though, involves the ball being replaced with a bomb, which can bounce
awkwardly and obviously prevents heading. At random intervals it will start to glow,
meaning that it's about to explode. Any players near the ball are then
removed from play, and the last team to touch it get a free kick or
penalty as appropriate.

1. World Cup Qualifiers.
To select the gruop you want, just to load National Teams, select specials
and then move up to the 'World Cup Qualifiers' option before you press fire.
To select, move the joystick to the left or right to cycle through the gruops.
Ther are six gruops in all. In each gruop the first two teams qualify and
each gruop is played as a straightforward league with each team playing twice
, 2 points for a win.
2. Starter's Custom Special.
Two new additions to Sensible Soccer are the Booby League and Turkey
Tournament, found in the Custom Team Specials. Designed espicially for
newcomers to the game, theese options consist of the most lightweight of
opposition on the offer. The booby League is a straight league of eight teams
who all play each other once. The Turkey Tournament is a sixteen-team
tournament consisting of a two-legged first round knockout and the winners
go into two groups of four teams who all play each other once. The winners
of the two groups then play a one-legged final.
3. European Cup.
The European Cup special in Club teams now goes into two groups of four teams
after the second round matches have been completed. The teams play each other
twice in the groups in the groups and the winner of the twp groups then play
each other in a legged final.
