Version: Commercial, key

Description:

After having freed the last GIs jailed in Vietnam, Rambo decides to make a
little trip to Afghanistan. The film was relatively good (provided you like
action and you don't want to use your brain) but the game is better! First, you
have to find several items in a base full of soldiers. Be careful not to trigger
mines or alarms. This part is a classical adventure/action game, which involves
much killing and a good hand-drawn map to find the way out. The graphics here
are really good, though they lack colour. But once you're out, you can play a
great Operation Wolf-like game, in which you must shoot soldiers,
helicopters and tanks. Two great games in one.

Description:

Rambo III is a top-down shoot-em-up based off the old Rambo
movies of the 80’s. It proves very faithful to the third movie in that
it involves that age-old chunky commando, John Rambo, and his
adventures in Afghanistan. Your mission in the game is rescue your
various friends, who have been captured by the sinister Soviets (ah,
the most durable of all game villains) and are being held hostage in an
Afghani Fortress. With the help of some Afghan freedom fighters, you
are smuggled into the fortress, and then you are on your own.

he game is ridiculously unrealistic, but still very fun. How a
shirtless American commando with only a knife can stand up against
several hundred angry Soviets armed with AK-47’s is any one’s guess.
But anyway, you make your way through the castle meeting lots of
resistance, including enemies such as attack dogs and so forth. The
game is surprisingly creative with its objects, such as you can collect
bones to throw at the dogs, and find night-vision glasses and so forth.
And that is pretty much it, concerning plot and game play.

Exceedingly good for the year 1989: 256 colors, relatively small pixels.

Titolo originale:Rambo III - The Rescue

Year: 1989 Ocean
Genre: Shooter - Multi-scrolling
Lang: English

Description:

The game itself comprises three sections. The first, as with Platoon,
forms the main crux of the game, and details John Rambo's efforts to
infiltrate a Soviet fort and rescue his commanding officer, Colonel
Trautman. No clues are given as to the location of the captive,
necessitating a top-down, flick-screen search of every single building,
outhouse and cell block. Along the way, Rambo must acquire more
effective weaponry with which to engage the many guards patrolling the
area, including pistols, assault rifles and his trademark compound bow
(complete with standard and explosive arrowheads), as well as seek out
equipment needed to bypass many of the traps and security measures put
in place by the Soviets

Aesthetically it's quite impressive, with smart hi-res overlay sprites
and colourful backgrounds, and the stonking title tune makes up for the
relatively monotonous in-game theme and bland sound effects. And the
sheer size of the game has to be applauded, with budding cartographers
able to glean a significant amount of enjoyment from the giant opening
level alone. But the way the game stacks the odds against you with
cheap and nasty tactics, coupled with the non-threat of the enemy
intelligence, means that the rest of us will find little here to keep
us hooked. Rambo III lives up to its film counterpart in that respect.

Rambo first blood part 2
Hardware: C64     Visualizza

Titolo originale:Rambo - First Blood part 2

Year: 1986 Ocean
Genre: Shooter - Vertical
Lang: English

Description:

You play Rambo, a commando sent to Vietnam to free the POWs.

In the first part of the mission you need to shoot, blast and stab your way
through the jungle to a helicopter.

Once you get to it, you need to fly it back to the POW camp and free the poor captives.

Finally you need to fly the helicopter back to safety, but be careful,
you'll encounter a MIG on the way!

All in all the game is a good shooter, which capitalised on the
bloody action part of the Rambo saga and in a way even contributed to
this bloodthirsty image of a gook-killing commando. Unfortunately it
overshadowed the real story, the real message of Rambo.

Year: 1986 Ocean
Genre: Shooter - Vertical
Lang: English
disks: 1

Description:

Rescue the American POWs from Vietnamese slave camps in this cash-in of the
very mid-80s Cold War, gung-ho, highly nationalistic and violent
Stallone-vehicle film of extremely dubious morals. Run around the jungle using
the selection of weapons at your disposal killing the swarms of foreign soldiers
intent on killing you, in what is a multi-scrolling top view shoot-'em-up. Bonus
weapons can be picked up and used to amusing effect to devastate the local
scenery and enemy encampments. It's basically a poor relative of superior
examples of the same genre such as Commando and Ikari Warriors<,
lacking their originality and gameplay. Music and graphics are nice enough but
it's only worth playing if you like this type of game.

Description:

You play a gorilla called George, a lizard called Lizzie, or a wolf
called Ralph. As Bally/Midway creates strange gameplay, what do they
make you do this time? Each character turns against humanity and, going
on a rampage through a huge load of cities, decides to wreck buildings.

In order to prevent this, the authorities has sent their best men
to stay inside the buildings and throw grenades or dynamite at you, but
these men have other means of endangering you. Some fly around in
helicopters, shooting at you from above and dropping missiles, while
some drive tanks and shoot cannonballs at you. Some even go around in
police vehicles that have a mounted gun.

Description:

Two's Company, Three's a Riot

You and your friends want to see a little action tonight, don't you? Great-
because there's room for all three of you to tear down the town at the same
time.

But why stop at just one town? RAMPAGE offers you over a hundred cities to
turn to total trash. And lots of them can be demolished more than once.

You can play any one of three terribly naughty characters - Ralph the Wolf,
George the Big Ape, or Lizzie the Lizard. Ralph has the meanest punch.
George is best at scaling buildings. And Lizzie is the fastest thing on
four scaly feet.

Description:

Ralph, George and Liz have been eating contaminated hamburgers and have
turned into giant hairy monsters (I hope BSE won't have the same effects), and they're on
the rampage. Up to three players can take part as they attempt to demolish 50 American
cities and raze skyscrapers to the ground, terrifying the inhabitants. However, the police
and the army are out to stop you! This game is wonderful, with colourful graphics and
excellent sound effects, and it's so much fun to ease your stress. It's even better with
three players, although the controls are a bit awkward, and the tune is irritating.

Genre: Action - Platform
Input: key, joy
Media: cdrom
Graphics: SuperVGA, Vesa
Sound: Gravis Ultrasound, Pro Audio Spectrum, Sound Blaster

Description:

Up to three simultaneous players control the monsters George King Kong-like
gorilla), Lizzy (a Godzilla-like dinosaur/lizard), or Ralph (a giant werewolf),
created from mutated humans. They need to raze all buildings in a
high-rise city to advance to the next level, eating people and
destroying helicopters, tanks, taxis, police cars, boats, and trolleys along
the way.

Monsters can jump and climb buildings, and punch enemies and buildings.
Buildings also take damage when jumped on by a monster.

The player's monster receives damage from enemy bullets, grenades,
shells and so forth, and from falls. Damage is recovered by eating
appropriate food such as fruit, roast chicken, or soldiers. If a
monster takes too much damage, it reverts back into a naked human and
starts walking off the screen sideways, covering its genitals
with its hands. While in this state, the player can be eaten by another
player. If the player continues, the human mutates back into the
monster, or flies in on a blimp if off-screen, with a full life bar.
