You have just arrived in the town of Spielburg, eager to prove yourself

There are many problems here that need a hero's touch. First of all,
the Baron's children (his son and his daughter) are missing, and so the
Baron is moping in his castle. He refuses to see anyone until his
children are found, and returned to him. There is also a gang of
brigands in town, and they are terrorizing everyone. Wouldn't it be
good if someone could make the brigands leave town? And let's not
forget about the evil witch Baba Yaga. Can you deal with all that, and
become Hero of Spielberg?

Quest for Glory combines the character development and combat of
fantasy role-playing games with the basic adventure game concept
of exploring and solving its puzzles. Trial by Fire is the second
Quest for Glory scenario.
The essence of role-playing is that you must try to think as your
character would when faced with a dilemma. In Quest for Glory II, you
can choose from three basic character types - the strong fighter,
the mysterious magician, or the wily thief. Each has the same goal:
to find Arus al-Din and restore him to the rank of Emir of Raseir.
Each character will, however, set about accomplishing that goal in a
different way. The magician may use spells to overcome some obstacles,
but might not survive a pitched battle with a monster. The thief must
find a crafty way around the same problem that the fighter or magic
user would approach directly.
Experience can be a tremendous asset to you as a hero. Your
attributes will improve as you play the game. Tasks that are beyond
your ability early on may become less difficult as your skills
improve.
Conversation is a very important element of Trial by Fire. You
will meet many strange people and creatures in Shapeir. To learn about
your surroundings and your quest, it will be necessary to speak with
everyone you meet. Like your character, the beings you meet will
have distinct personalities, and their skill and knowledge may lie
in different areas. You'll want to ask specific questions, and find
out all you can.
Every hero must deal with his share of foul and ferocious monsters.
If you want to be a hero, you'll have to fight or avoid them, as they
don't tend to favor discussion. Each battle you fight with provide
you with valuable experience, and many victories will yield treasure
that you will need to buy food and equipment.
A hero's life isn't always serious, though. Between desperate
encounters with terrible monsters and life-and-death decisions lie
many light-hearted, humorous and downright silly moments. Shapeir
is a strange place with a multi-faceted personality, as you will
soon see.

Quest For Glory II: Trial By Fire is a wonderful adventure game written by
Sierra in a 1990. It is the second game in the Quest For Glory series.
The town is being terrorized by Elementals, and the townspeople are looking to
you - as a Hero - to save them. Only YOU are brave enough to face the Elementals.
You need to explore the town and talk to various people, in order to discover
more about the 4 Elementals that are haunting this town. It is up to
you to find a way to defeat Fire, Air, Earth, and Water. If all that is
not enough for you, there are many sub-quests for you to complete as
well. Just read the Notice Board in the Guild Hall.
Of course, defeating the Elementals is only part of the story. As
you explore Shapier, you learn about the troubled town of Raseir. The
Emir has gone missing, and his brother is now ruling the town.
Unfortunately, his brother is very corrupt, and the town is very run
down and dingy. The criminals and baddies have an easy life, while
others live in fear. You vow to travel to Raseir, find the Emir, and
restore him back to power. On top of everything else, you must prevent the Genie
from being released. It's all in a day's work for a hero like you!

much like werewolves. In this game you’re left with the task of
preventing civil war between the two factions blaming each other for
the theft of each of their own ancient artifacts.
The Simbani have lost their ancient spear and blame the Leopard men,
while the Leopard men blame the Simbani for the theft of their ancient
drum. With war soon to break out, both tribes look to the proud
Liontaurs for aid. With Rakeesh, who also appear in Quest for Glory 2:
Trial by Fire, as well as Uhara, the hero must yet again set right to
wrong in this priceless game.
This game uses the same system for Glory 1: So You Want To
Be a Hero? VGA mixing role-playing and adventure games into one solid
game-play interface.

Shadows of Darkness is the fourth game in the much loved adventure/RPG
hybrid series, Quest for Glory, created by the now-defunct Sierra On-Line.
You are a hero in a strange land, surrounded by strange people and
stranger creatures. Will you take up the path of Fighter, Wizard, or
Thief?
The game begins with you in a strange cave, from which you must make
your escape. Once you are outside, the true quest begins: who brought
you here, and why? The land of Mordavia is fraught with all manner of
dangers, be it living or dead. Something is obviously amiss.
Based on various myths and legends from around the world, Mordavia
takes particular influence from certain Eastern European and Slavic
mythologies. This brings much life (and un-death!) to the monsters and
people that you will meet in your quest. The game world has reverted
back to something reminiscent of the first in the series (after a
rather different look and feel in the third game), based around a small
town in the middle of a forest. The daytime is generally quieter, while
traveling at night is not recommended for a novice adventurer. However,
it is said that there is a safe haven in the forest for those who are
caught out at night.
The land is cut off from the outside world by mountains and swamps,
and the people are suspicious of strangers. The only other recent
visitors are the new residents of the castle, to the east of the town.
An abandoned Adventurer's Guild is in the back streets, next to an old
monastery. This grey stone monastery has a particularly strange design,
but it looks like it has been abandoned for years.

The Quest of Agravain> is a platform game where the player
controls a medieval knight armed with a sword. The main objective is to
reach the exit door at the top of each level. Pressing the fire button makes Lord
Agravain thrust his sword forward. Pressing fire while holding down makes him
throw a weapon (the default one is a small lance). Like in Ghosts 'N Goblins,
when the knight is hit he loses his armor. If he is attacked while
semi-nude, he dies. There are several power-ups scattered throughout
the 4 sets of levels (a cross paralyzes the enemies, a star gives
invulnerability, etc). The game starts with three lives and has no form
of saving progress.
