Visualizza
Titolo originale:Powerplay - The Game of the Gods
Year: 1987 Arcana
Genre: Board Games - Misc
Lang: English
Disks: 1
Version: Commercial, OCS, PAL, WHD
Description:
On the heights of Mount Olympus, the mighty gods are once again arguing
over which of them is the wisest and most powerful. To settle this
quarrel, Zeus decided that four of them representing different ideologies
should compete in a battle of sheer wit and speed he has devised, to be
called the 'POWERPLAY'. The representitives will be Apollo, standing for
strength and dignity; Hermes, standing for magic and trickery; Hecate,
standing for witchcraft and wizardry; and lastly Aphrodite, standing for
love.
A courtyard in the temple of Apollo has been selected as the arena for
the main competition. In addition special battlegrounds have been
prepared in places as diverse as the craggy tops of mount Olympus and the
fiery caverns in the very depths of Hades.
To avoid personal injury, each god will pick a team of warriors to fight
the battle according to their commands. Throughout the contest, the gods
will be tested on their knowledge of the universe, having to respond
quickly and correctly to make best use of the warriors. The better a god
responds, the wiser they become, and they may use stronger warrior.
There are four families of warriors, one to represent each of the four
ideoligies competing, each containing four grades from weak to strong.

Powerslave

Titolo originale:Powerslave
Year: 1996 Playmates Interactive
Genre: Action - FPS
Description:
Powerslave is a fun and innovative first-person shooter whose excellent graphics
and level design are unfortunately overshadowed by serious interface problems
and bugs (which are probably related to the fact that the game was converted
to PC from the original PlayStation version). The premise is quite promising,
and is a far cry from "shoot aliens, save Earth" plots of most first-person
shooters. You play a covert operations specialist who's been ferried into the
Egyptian city of Karnak to find out who or what has sealed off the town from
the rest of the world.

Disks: 1
Version: Commercial, OCS, PAL, WHD
Description:
The idea of the game is to complete each level by collecting all the hidden
treasures, finding the exit and escaping before the timer runs out. PP can
use his pneumatic drill to destroy certain blocks that obstruct his path.
But be careful! The blocks will reappear. If PP happens to be in the way
when a sone reappears then POOF!!! Bye, Bye Hammer. However, there are plenty
of extra features to give PP an even chance of finishing.

Pray for death
Hardware: PC
Visualizza
Titolo originale:Pray for Death
Year: 1996 Virgin Interactive
Genre: Action - fighting
Description:
This is one of the few fighting games that follows the Killer Instinct
school of fighting, that is: lots of eye candy, techno soundtrack and
combo moves that allow you to string together dozens of hits.
Storywise the game puts you in the shoes of a deceased character among a gallery
of several equally dead characters competing in hell on a tournament
sponsored by Lucifer himself with the grand prize being to return to
the mortal plane.
The characters include the standard amount of
"real" martial artists like the Bruce Lee clone and the dominatrix, as
well as some fantasy characters like demons, vikings, etc. each with
his own array of special moves, combos and finishing moves.
Graphically the game pulls some nifty tricks. Backgrounds consist of looping FMV
and pre-rendered sprites with pyrotechnic effects, reflecting water,
etc.., the camera zooms in and out of the fighters, etc.

Predator
Hardware: C64

Titolo originale:Predator
Year: 1988 Activision
Genre: Shooter - Horrizontal
Lang: English
Description:
Movie-license games usually suck. It's probably because the developers
have to blow most of the budget on the license and then they have to
cut corners everywhere to get the game out of the door. Predator is a
good example of this.
The game is very simple. Everything that moves wants a piece of you
and (naturally) you want a piece of everything that moves. Sometimes
the Predator tries to hunt you with his famous triangle and you have to
avoid it. That's just about it. The gameplay is plain bad. It's
difficult and boring as hell. There is nothing to it more than going
around and killing other soldiers. The controls are very bad and moving
Arnie around is a big hassle.

Titolo originale:Predator
Year: 1987 Activision
Genre: Arcade - Run & Gun
Lang: english
Disks: 1
Version: Commercial, joy port 1
Description:
Cash-in from the highly tongue-in-cheek Schwarzenegger action film. Guide our musclebound hero Arnie through the American tropical jungle, shooting the never-ending number of guerillas, while avoiding getting killed by the Predator alien that has its sights firmly set upon you. Sadly the game isn't as half as amusing as the film itself and if anything is particularly tedious; as a rule of thumb, almost any Schwarzenegger film conversions (barring Terminator 2 perhaps) are well worth avoiding.

description:
Predator is a side-scrolling platformer which uses the imagery and
characters from the classic Arnie movie of the same name. The game is
not a faithfully conversion of the movie however - your unit has
already been killed off when the game starts and you will battle
scorpions, enemy soldiers and dodge obstacles etc, before facing the
Predator itself a number of times.
