Description:
The first game in the series was released in 1990 for most popular contemporary
8-bit and 16-bit computer systems, the Amiga version being the most technically
advanced. The game allowed the player to race a Lotus Esprit Turbo SE car through
several (32 in the Amiga version) circuit race tracks of varying scenery.
Two player simultaneous play (with split screen) was also provided, and a choice
of audio tracks to accompany races.
Each track is lap-based and consists of turns of varying degrees, as
well as hills and hollows which slow down or speed up the car passing
through them. Each turn is indicated by a chain of road-side signs, and
the difficulty of the turn is reflected by the number and density of
these signs - a feature common to all titles in the Lotus series.

Description:
Lotus the Ultimate Challenge offers something that still makes me play
it today, especially with some friends around. It is fast and it is
fun. Driving is not realistic (too "smooth" to be precise), but it
really doesn't matter here (I've seen worse... and I've seen better,
but nothing I've ever seen so far can be compared to this one). There
are 3 car models and 13 tracks to choose from, championship and time
trial mode, manual or automatic transmission, adjustable difficulty
level etc. Two player mode is supported by splitting the screen
horizonaly.
You can control your vehicle using either a (split) keyboard, joystick or a mouse,
or any combination of the above - you name it :). The graphics are nice and
the level design is excellent!
Also, you can choose from a number of music themes that you wish to
listen to while driving. As a special treat, there is a sort of a level
editor that lets you choose track properties such as weather
conditions, surface, steepness, scenery, curvedness, obstacles etc.
It's easy to learn for a beginner and it is much more difficult to
master, so you might easily become a "Lotus addict" even if you play it
for the first time.

Con Lotus Turbo Challegne 2 non si corre più direttamente contro
altre macchine o tanti giri, ma invece si corre contro il tempo e
ne hai poco per raggiungere un checkpoint.
Ogni volta che raggiungi un checkpoint viene esteso il tempo e quello
rimanente diventano punti bonus se completi il tracciato.
Hai due macchina a disposizione che il gioco sceglie automaticamente
per ogni livello, da qui la perdita della parola 'Esprit' nel titolo.

The second Lotus game shifted focus to arcade-oriented gameplay.
Being the first of the series released for a game console
(for Sega Mega Drive under the title Lotus Turbo Challenge),
the fuel limit and difficulty levels were dropped, and the lap-based
levels were replaced with course-based time trials, (not unlike arcade
games such as Out Run), with the player required to complete each course within
a specified time to qualify for the next one.
In addition to the Esprit Turbo SE, Lotus Turbo Challenge 2 also featured the
Lotus Elan SE, hence 'Esprit' being dropped from the title. There was no choice
of car however; it varied depending on the scenery of the level (the hard-top
Esprit was used for the snow and thunderstorm levels, for example,
while the Elan SE appeared in the desert and forest levels).
In an improvement over its predecessor, Lotus 2's single-player mode
used all of the game screen instead of half, and opponent cars appeared
in a variety of colors (opponent cars in the original game were all
white). However, music was absent from racing altogether; the player
instead hears the car's engine sound.

This is where you start the game: In a quiet desert town, almost broke, and with

Dopo aver svaligiato una banca e ucciso una guardia, i due criminali ti
abbandonano in mezzo al deserto, portandosi via il malloppo.
Qui inizia il gioco: in una tranquilla cittadina nel deserto e con l'FBI alle
tue calcagne, incontri Lula, un'aspirante 'attrice' e insieme decidete
di rendere migliori le vostre vite.
Nella prima parte del gioco sei in una piccola cittadina, cercando abbastanza
denaro in pochi giorni per comprare una nuova identita e fuggire dalla rete
dell'FBI, facendo foto e film di Lula nell'albergo.
Non appena hai abbastanza denaro, devi decidere di metterti in affari.
La seconda parte consiste di creare una studio cinematogrfica, assumendo
personale, creando trame, facendo montaggio video e distribuirlo.
Dopo i film, ora apri del negozi per adulti in tutto il paese, gestendo
le risorse e facendo pubblicità fino a raggiungere la somma di denaro per
