From the first glance of the opening screen...this game had me hooked!
You are a nobleman returning to your home kingdom, only to discover
your uncle took control while you were away. Now you must gather an
army and fight him!
You'll meet different people and most of them will be representatives
of certain guilds. If you do them a certain favour, they'll join forces
with you (just imagine leading the guilds of millers and templar
knights into battle at the same time). In order to win their favours,
you'll need to win an archery tournament, win an arm wrestling
competition and so forth.
On your way however you'll run into opposing knights. You need to
defeat them before you can continue and that's not always an easy task.
Once you have an army (even if only one guild chose to join you) you
can challenge your uncle's armies. You need to return to your castle
and start the war.
Until this point the game is more of a adventure/RPG type, but
after you challenge your uncle the game becomes a strategy game. You'll
move your forces and hopefully win the war (you really should get all
the people to join you if you plan to win) and storm your uncle's
castle.
And now comes the final part - the arcade game.
Once inside the castle, you'll be running around the maze with your
main opponent being your energy. Every time you finish a maze you'll
get an arcade like action scene, where you'll lose your energy fast.
There is no way to recover energy and once you run out of it the game
is over.
So make sure you find your uncle in time and retake the throne!

for not doing so, because this is one of the most amazing CPC games ever! As the
heir to the throne of your father's kingdom, you have returned from the crusades
to find that your evil uncle Zolfkar has overthrown him and brought terror to
the land. It is your task to gain respect among the people by performing various
tasks, and to gather an army to fight Zolfkar. When you have defeated Zolfkar,
you are then taken to an arcade section where you explore dungeons and fight
monsters. This game takes up two whole discs - it's that big - and everything
about it is beyond words. You'll have to be able to understand French to play
it, though...

"This land was once called Arborea. Morgoth, Lord of Evil and Chaos,
decided to make Arborea his own. His dark powers soon subdued the
land. But Jarel, Prince of the Elves fought against this evil
succesful in his quest for the magic crystals of Harmony, he and his
faithful companionsfinally destroyed Morgoth in an unforgettable
battle (*).
Jarel's companions are still alive and their names are engraved in
everyones memory...Akeer, Olbar, Zach, Irvan, Thorm and Jon the
Alchemist. After his victory Jarel became ruler of the whole land,
which he renamed Kendoria. Under the leadership of Jarel and a wise
Elven government the many peoples of Kendoria lived health and
wealtlrl.
Sadly Jarel was killed in a hunting accident, and as his succesors
struggled violently for power anarchy spread through the whole land.
Taking advantage of the troubled situation people of many different
races crossed into Kendoria from nearby, poorer lands. Many were
traders or farmers...but some were adventurers and mercenaries. Such
a one was Krogh...a shady and powerfull figure... "
Azalhgorm paused. He was troubled by these memories of the past...he
coughed slightly and his deep, low voice echoed once again...
"Krogh has grown rich and powerful and built a temple on the
Kingdoms borders. The temple is called "Ishar" which means Unknown
in the Elven tongue. Krogh is evil and like Morgoth in the past,
threatens Kendoria. his powers are great...he seeks the return of
darkness. Leave now for Ishar and regain the throne of Jarel.
" It was already dark. I could barely see Azalhgorrns face as,
feeling puzzled, I bid him farewell and began my long joutney to the
mysterious land of Kendoria.

Ishar: Lengend of Arborea è il seguito di Crystal of Arborea.
Morgoth e Morgula, l'oscuro dio e sua moglie che furono sconfitti nel
primo gioco, hanno avuto un figlio, Krogh.
Il loro malvagio figlio vive nella fortezza di Ishar, che significa "sconosciuto"

Ishar became a cultural and intellectual centre, casting its radiance over
the whole archipelago of Arborea, which consists of seven islands: the Isle
of Kendoria and six others each bering the name of one of Jarel's companions.
Thanks to massive immigration by the peoples of the Northlands, submerged by
the sea, Zach, the best known of the islands, developed rapidly and remains
a very important city today. The other islands are inhabited by different
races at various levels of development.
One fine morning, Zurbaran, the new Rules of Ishar, received an unusual
visitor...
Shandar, a monk of chaos, entered the city along with settlers from the northern
lands. His trading in hallucinogens soon made him rich and powerful. Eventually
Shandar controlled "Zach's Island" and had many followers and worshippers.
He built a strong fortress, a second Ishar, to challenge the empire.
In the game you have to explore the magic land (dungeons, tree-cities, mountain
paths with real graded height effect), fight the enemies, join the allies and
relax in towns, which even have medieval nightclubs.

punto focale dell'intero arcipelago di Arborea, che consiste in sette isole.
L'isola di Kendoria e sei altre isole, ognuna che porta il nome di uno

Zach, la più conosciuta citta delle isole, si sviluppò rapidamente e oggi

The game now takes place on an archipelago, each island bearing the
name of one of Jarel's companions. Each island also features a
different type of landscape: Irvan's island is covered with swamps,
Akeer's and Otbar's are underground complexes, Zach's island is covered
by a city, Jon's is mountainous, and Thorm's has treetop gangways in a
forest.
This game has a combat system that's more ergonomic than in the
first Ishar, and a day-night cycle in which shops are closed at night
and the nightclub is closed by day. Saving the game does not remove
gold from the player any more.
