Excellent card games
Hardware: AMIGA
Visualizza
Titolo originale:Excellent Card Games
Year: 1993 Tower
Genre: Gambling - Cards
Lang: English
Disks: 1
Version: Commercial, OCS, PAL
Description:
Five card games are brought to life in this title – Baroness (AKA Five
Piles), Frustration, Yukon, Stonewall and Black Maria. The basic game
mechanics offer straightforward visuals, a range of card sets, saveable
statistics, and click-to-drop or drag-and-drop control options.
Black Maria is a three-player game, which is similar to Hearts but with the
opposite objective – i.e. you must hold the hearts and queens. The
others are all solitaire, with Baroness and Frustration being largely
luck based and involving matching cards up so they add to 13 in
Baroness (aces low; kings go automatically) or 10 in Frustration (face
cards pair with cards from the same rank).

Executioner
Hardware: AMIGA
Visualizza
Titolo originale:Executioner
Year: 1991 Hawk
Genre: Shooter - Multi-directional
Lang: English
Disks: 2
Version: Commercial, OCS, PAL, WHD
Description:
A simple little game that is a later reworking of the ancient game, "Thrust".
With the full effects of gravity and Newtonian physics in action to
make control more challenging, you fly around a side-scrolling level
shooting enemies and avoiding contact with the scenery.
There are a few additional twists. You must collect bits of a key (which you
need to be able to kill the baddie at the end), and pick up prisoners
(whom you can then torture to learn the whereabouts of other bits of
the key). There's also a shop where you can sell your prisoners as
slaves (provided you haven't tortured them to death) in return for
powerups for your ship.

Titolo originale:Exodus 3010 - The First Chapter
Year: 1993 Demonware
Genre: Strategy - Misc
Lang: English
Disks: 2
Verion: Commercial, OCS, PAL
Description:
Exodus is a pretty complex game at first glance, but when you get a
grasp on what you are supposed to be doing, it gets a bit easier. Hopefully
this doc will help you do just that.
The game has three different parts. The 1st, which I call the MSM
(Mother Ship Mode) is where you start the game. The 2nd and third parts are
Strategic Mode (SM) and Flight Mode (FM). [Details to follow, so hang on!]
As it says in the intro, you were headed for a new world after your
old one was destroyed. The computer has woken you up to regain control of
the mother ship after it detected other beings nearby. The goal is to pass
the challenges that now face you, and make it to the new world

Exolon
Hardware: C64
Visualizza
Titolo originale:Exolon
Year: 1987 Hewson
Genre: Arcade - Platform (Multi screen)
Lang: English
Game Length: 153 Blocks
Version: C64
Description:
You are a space-soldier, walking on the surface of a alien-planet. The
task is to reach a base, located 25 screens away from you. Your weapons
are a laser gun and a grenade thrower with a limited amount of
ammunition. As i said a lot of aliens will come in your direction, like
flying paintballs (greetings to wizball), accelerating rockets, crab
like space insects etc. There are also some fixed guns and
radar-stations that will be a barriers on your way, until you destroy
them with a grenade. To avoid running out of ammo, there are a lot of
silver and golden cans on your way that recover your weapon status.
Also you will find some transporter-chambers, that will beam you to the
other cell on the actually screen.
The graphics are ok, the backgrounds and spacescapes are colourful and
no screen looks like the others. The player-sprite is only monochrome -
could be better. The sound-effects fits to the action that can be seen
on the screen, especially if you launch a grenade. A minus-point is the
decreasing movements of the hero when a lot of moving sprites are
displayed on the screen. But this piece of software is surely one of
the better releases by Hewson for the sixty-four, and shouldn´t be
missed in any collection.
